Chilli Peppers (Capiscum anuum)

Chillies are a summer crop that need warmth & light.  Buy plants in late spring or start transplants from seed sown between mid-February and mid-March.  They grow better in a greenhouse (or poly-tunnel).

Plant into soil that has been pre-warmed by being covered in black plastic.

Pinch growing tips to encourage branching.

Stake and tie taller plants as they grow.

Water & feed regularly.

Lift plants in autumn and hang in a frost-free place to let the last fruit ripen.
